When you buy a clothing lot for Barbie off Ebay, it’s kinda like a box of chocolates…”you never know what you’re gonna get.” Let’s just say that there are a lot of princess gowns that find their way into those lots, this dress in that category. It originally came on the Disney Store’s “Elsa and Anna’s Ice Skating Set” (from ca. 2014). I have attached a photo of the dress on the NIB doll, but I don’t have the original doll or box. I had to wash, iron and batten down a hatch on the back, but it looks great now, no holes, no rips. Yay!
I chose a modern Fashionista Barbie to wear the ensemble, her blond hair, side braid and blue eyes a nod to Elsa. Her one-of-a-kind accessories include: a crown, the perfect shoes, a scepter made from a twig that I embellished with silver metallic paint, glitter and snowflakes; a blue and silver orb held on her wrist with a beaded stretch bracelet, a rhinestone snowflake necklace, and earrings that coordinate with a second bracelet that holds her snowflake cellphone. A girl’s gotta have a phone!
The Fashionista Barbie also came in a lot with other dolls. She has articulated elbows and wrists for ease of posing, arched feet, and closed fingers. She too has been freshened up. Luckily, she doesn’t have any chew scars anywhere. There is a faint reddish dot centered between her eyes that I couldn’t remove. Original to the doll?
Everything comes to you from a non-smoking, Barbie-loving home where we fell back in love with Disney when “Frozen” came out. Time to “Let it go.”
