Your jewelry is handcrafted to be lasting, but gemstones, crystals, and beads are not eternal. Likewise, almost all metal discolors over time. Therefore, gold and silver plating – known for its beauty and affordability – requires care. By following these simple tips, however, you can maintain your jewelry’s beauty for as long as possible:
> DO NOT GET YOUR JEWELRY WET ~ Keep your jewelry away from moisture. It is best to remove your jewelry before washing your hands, while showering, exercising and swimming since contact with water can tarnish metals and charms and ruin the finishes of gemstones.
> AVOID CONTACT WITH CHEMICALS ~ Perfume, soap, moisturizer, lotion, hand sanitizer and other chemicals can discolor metals and charms, may harm natural crystals and gemstones, and can also damage crafting materials. Be careful.
> AVOID HEAT EXPOSURE ~ Leaving your jewelry in sunlight or exposed to heat for an extended period of time can also cause beads and metal to discolor. Remember to remove your jewelry while exercising.
> STORE SAFELY ~ Always store your jewelry safely in a soft pouch, soft cloth – or secure in a box or drawer – separate from other jewelry. Never wear your jewelry to bed and remove when sleeping. Use a soft microfiber cloth to polish.
