A lot of people think the VW accelerator pedal set-up is flimsy and undependable. What they're really running into is old parts that weren't take care of and used to death! Old accelerator pedals usually don't pivot well at the bottom due to rust and crud plus the old pedal is prone to breaking or at least opening up at that point so it doesn't move properly. This is just made worse by most of the reproductions out there being made from thin metal which tends to fall apart quickly. However, the pedal in this auction is made from the same thick metal as the originals plus the metal loops at the bottom are solidly attached thus eliminating the problems the originals were prone too! Nothing chintzy here so your accelerator will once again feel factory new!

This pedal is used on assemblies that still have a separate mount welded to the floor. Later assemblies have a cast piece that is part of the pedal assembly that the accelerator pedal mounts to - this is not the pedal for those.
