A very attractive large original watercolour on paper of boats moored up on a low tide, the location is unknown, but probably the East of England. The painting is by British artist Winston Megoran (1913 – 1971) and is signed by him bottom right. Megoran was a prolific marine artist and clearly very accomplished. This painting is 41.5cm x 27.5cm and the frame is 60cm x 49cm. There is a gallery label verso for the Warwick Galleries Birmingham.

 

 

Condition

The condition of the painting is very good. As you can see from the photos the frame is very distressed on the right hand side and will probably need replacing.

The glass will be taped, the painting bubble wrapped, shipped in a brand new double walled picture box covered in fragile tape, but there is still a chance of breakage.
