Common questions What is it? A weather bar — also called a drip bar or rain deflector — is a slim uPVC profile fixed across the face of a door or window. Its drip nose throws rainwater clear of the joint below it, so wind-driven rain is not forced under the door or across the cill. Made by Deceuninck from virgin, lead-free, UV-stable uPVC, it will not rot, warp or fade the way a timber bar does. Where does it fit? Across the bottom of a door, over a door head, or above a tilt & turn or casement window — anywhere water needs turning away. It suits uPVC, composite, aluminium and timber frames alike, because it is screwed to the flat face of the frame, not into the glazing or the seal. Which length do I need? Measure the width of the opening in between the door posts and pick that length, or the next size up — the bar cuts cleanly with a junior hacksaw and the end caps finish the cut ends. Seven lengths from 500 mm to 1190 mm are on the drop-down. How do I fit it — do I need tools? No special tools. Offer the bar up and get it level, drive the supplied self-drilling nipple screws into the face of the door, then slide the bar over the screw heads. Chartwell Green and Agate Grey bars are supplied with Cement Grey end caps — a close match, not an exact one.
Bars over 900 mm to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, Scilly and the Scottish Highlands & Islands carry a carriage charge, advised before despatch.
Compatible with
uPVC, composite, aluminium and timber doors and windows — inward or outward opening, French doors, tilt & turn and casement windows, and door heads. Any frame with a flat face the bar can be screwed to.
