This sale is for a true, half wave end fed antenna for 20-10 meters This antenna is rated at 100W PEP@50/50 Duty and 40W digital/CW@50/50 duty and is PERFECT for both portable or permanent installations! Deployed correctly, this antenna will show a SWR of 2:1 or less from edge to edge of both bands, but very typically 1.5:1 or less straight out of the box.
This antenna, in a sloper configuration with the transformer 5-8' high and with the other end of the element up from 18-30' will produce fantastic contacts for you. The antenna is great for portable work because of it's small size yet great efficiency also make it a great choice for permanent installations at your QTH.
When I developed this antenna, and finally got everything out of it that I could, I put it on the air and with 100W and SSB, was making 5/9 contacts from Michigan to Canada and from Michigan to Montana straight away.

For that reason, I always keep the mindset that just because something is "working", doesn't mean we have optimized it to give us the most we can get, with the materials we are using. In other words, I always do the long, hard R&D, to provide the best I can. For an antenna of this size, it's a hands down winner.
This antenna comes complete with approx 32 feet of stealthy but strong MARINE fully tinned 18AWG insulated stranded copper wire, dogbone insulator and all Stainless Steel hardware on the matching box. Marine wire is tough and made for harsh environments. The box is sealed with a foam gasket as well.
Without a tuner the antenna works 20 as well as 10 meters One of the great things about this antenna is that the height you mount it will have a smaller affect on SWR than other antenna types. This gives you a large flexibility in your installation. One huge advantage of these antennas is that they typically have very good "ears" with a low noise floor!
As you can see from the picture the antenna box does come with the mounting eye-bolt wired for optional ground however with this type of antenna adding a ground or counterpoise will have little to no affect on the antenna tuning and is not needed since it's built as a DC ground potential antenna already. Also, NO RF CHOKE NEEDED IN MOST INSTALLATIONS! That said, a rf choke is always good practice. Another advantage of this antenna is the endless ways you can deploy it. I recommend a simple sloper installation and you can mount the box close to the ground with your element sloping upwards. When installed as a sloper you will see fantastic results if you can get the far end of the element up to 25' or more. That being said, you can install this antenna: horizontal, vertical, inverted "L", zigzag and more. The key is, you want your element in a clear area as much as possible, because the more objects close to the element, the more the antennas tune will be affected. This is a very simple antenna to install and no extensive instructions are necessary but if you do have any questions please feel free to ask. Simply secure a cord to the mounting eye-bolt and stretch out your element for your installation and secure it.
