Petrified Wood / Fossil Wood Slice from Madagascar

This is a super example of Petrified Wood from Ambilobe in Madagascar. The piece is a slice from a fossilised wood branch which has been polished on the cut faces and is natural around the edges. The slice has distinct growth patterns and the texture of the bark can claerly be seen around the outer edge. The Petrified Wood is a Triassic period fossil.

The slice weighs 22g and measures 5.5cm x 5cm. (All weights and measures are approximate)

It is a beautiful piece which would appeal equally to collectors or to display in the home
