A brand new Godzilla has been added to the ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS series, which brings you masterpieces in plastic kit form!

The original sculptor is Shinobu Matsumura, a leading expert in natural history and biological modeling.

Based on promotional stills from the 1954 film Godzilla, this figure reconstructs and recreates the essence of various Godzillas from over 70 years. Rather than simply recreating a suit or CGI, it depicts in 3D the appearance of the giant ancient creature as it emerged in Tokyo.

The collapsed Nichigeki Building and elevated Japanese National Railways tracks at the base, which serve as the base, and the pose of the monster gripping a train in its jaws add to the sense of realism.

Matsumura's masterpiece has been condensed into a fixed-pose plastic model kit on a total of eight runners. The organic yet complex surface details of the body have been faithfully reproduced from the original. Despite the complex division, the structure used in previously released series, in which the surface body parts are attached to a base body, ensures sturdiness. The part fit, which is a challenge with this method, has been molded with high precision, and the division lines are inconspicuous.

The assembly itself is fun, and once completed, it becomes an ornament that can withstand display even in its unpainted state. Of course, if you choose to paint it, the combination of the colossal creature Godzilla and the collapsed structure will inspire your imagination.
