About
A food mill is a kitchen utensil for pureeing and sieving soft foods, consisting of a bowl, a perforated bottom plate, and a hand-cranked blade that forces the food through the holes to separate skins and seeds. Used for making smooth sauces, jams, baby food, and mashed potatoes, it produces a medium-fine texture without the slimy result of a blender and is an efficient alternative to a sieve for certain tasks.
