This is a classic vintage Louisville Slugger wood bat from the late 1980s to early 1990s, part of the Grand Slam Series and featuring a facsimile Eric Davis signature (partially rubbed off). Made in the USA, this bat is a Model 180 with a flame-tempered finish, measuring 34 inches in length.
The “4” factory-stamped knob indicates the original weight or size classification, and a previous owner added a red “HOT” marking to the knob — not part of the original design. The black athletic grip tape adds a classic used-ballpark feel.
Features:
• Brand: Louisville Slugger (Hillerich & Bradsby Co.)
• Model: 180 – Grand Slam Series
• Player: Eric Davis (signature model)
• Era: Late 1980s to early 1990s
• Length: 34”
• Material: Flame-tempered ash wood
• Origin: Made in U.S.A.
• Knob: Factory-stamped “4” + handwritten “HOT” (not factory)
• Grip: Black athletic tape wrap
• Condition: Shows vintage wear and rub-through on signature, but has some indents and scuffs on the barrel from use but overall structurally solid with great display character.
Collector’s Note: Eric Davis was a standout player during the ’80s and early ’90s, and bats from this Grand Slam line are increasingly hard to find — especially in full 34” length. Ideal for vintage sports collectors, nostalgic ballplayers, or man cave decorators.
