-  a collection of 20 short stories from old Santa Fe area.

- Goodreads:  a collection of stories from the Santa Fe area during the late 40's early 50's. Dorothy's descriptions of her friends and neighbors are rich and you can really picture what life was like then and how that area looked then.  Learning about the three cultures, gringo, Spanish, and Native American (Navaho - that's how it's spelled in the book) and how they interact and live together is enriching and can teach us all a thing or two.  You may especially enjoy reading about an alarm clock that appears at Mrs. Apopdaca's home courtesy of her daughter!
