Description:

Masonic collectors, historians, and lovers of vintage ephemera—here’s a rare chance to own a fascinating lot of paper items from Tuscan Lodge No. 126 A.F. & A.M., Hartford, Connecticut, all dated to 1959. This captivating collection offers a vivid glimpse into Masonic life at a thriving mid-century lodge, chartered in 1920 and based at the Masonic Temple on 201 Ann Street. From a detailed pamphlet to initiation receipts and a worn lecture card, this lot is a tangible piece of Freemasonry’s enduring legacy—direct from Hartford’s storied past.

What’s Included in This Treasure Trove:

  • 5" x 3" Tri-Fold Posterboard Pamphlet: A beautifully preserved piece for September-October 1959, stating “Meets First and Third Fridays, Masonic Temple, 201 Ann Street, Hartford, Connecticut.” Inside, it’s packed with lodge details: Past Members, Zadoc Club Members, Trestle Board, Memoriam, Officers of the Lodge, Trustees, and a printed message from Master Calvin C. Reed—a personal note from the Worshipful Master himself. Pure lodge history!

  • Two Initiation Fee Receipts: Dated September and October 1959, these fragile slips record a member’s entry into Tuscan Lodge No. 126. Each bears the lodge’s official letterhead.

  • 5.5" x 3.5" Lecture & Obligation Card: A well-worn, double-sided relic titled “LECTURE No. ONE” and “OBLIGATION No. ONE”. This weathered card, with creases and signs of use, was likely a brother’s companion as he memorized the craft’s sacred words—a direct link to 1959 rituals.
