Up for your consideration is a two-piece set of empty replica pre - First Gulf War -  era 9 MM BALL NATO M882 military contract boxes with an OLIN / WESTERN CARTIDGE CORP. label. 

In 1985, the Department of Defense made the decision to retire the .45 ACP Colt M1911 pistol and replace it with the 9mm M9 Beretta. There were two factors that influenced the decision - higher magazine capacity (7 rounds for the Colt vs. 15 rounds for the Beretta), and the desire to standardize cartridges with our NATO allies. The Beretta was a more modern design handgun that used the same 9mm Parabellum cartridge used by most of our European allies, an important supply and logistics consideration. That consideration paid off when the United States became involved in the First Gulf War (Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm - 2 Aug. 1990 to 28 Feb. 1991).

Each single purchase is for two cartons with an Olin / Western Cartridge Corp. 9mm Ball NATO label, and two Styrofoam cartridge trays. The lot numbers on the cartons match my original shipping box from the pre- First Gulf War - era (1988 lot). The cartons will be shipped completely assembled with the trays inside the boxes. I had a lot of these made, so if you want multiple sets, just change the auction quantity before you click on the "Buy It Now" button.
