In contrast, these headphones embody "true open-back" audio, eliminating resonance and allowing the driver's playback sound to reach your ears directly. The unique driver design allows for control of the airflow generated by the driver while keeping the front and back of the housing open, creating a pure and realistic sound field.

・Newly designed headband and headpad for comfort, even during long work sessions: The sturdy metal headband structure and new headpad combine simplicity and strength, providing comfort even during long work sessions. The headband has evolved from the previous model, now featuring a slider mechanism for superior comfort. This allows the head pad to be adjusted as well.

・Unrestricted driver performance for natural, accurate audio production: The sound of open-back headphones is strongly influenced by the performance of the drivers, with the movement of the diaphragm directly converted into sound. This delivers an extremely pure open-back sound with minimal distortion. The ATH-R70xa is built for critical monitoring, allowing engineers to make the right decisions at every step of the production process.

・Equipped with a large-diameter 45mm driver designed specifically for the R70x series for high-purity reproduction of the entire frequency range: The dedicated driver, inherited from the previous model, the ATH-R70x, has been adopted. Improvements, including a review of the manufacturing process, have improved sound accuracy. This enables a more realistic sound field representation and accurate, natural sound reproduction.
