these bumper mounting kits are often missing or broken and are tough to find used but now a brand-new reproduction is available!

In 1974 new safety regulations started requiring bumpers that could take a 5mph collision without damage so most car manufacturers, including VW, started adding shock absorbers to their bumper  assemblies. On VWs the bumpers, instead of just bolting directly to the brackets as before, got a unique mounting kit that often gets damaged or lost and, until now, has never been available new. This brand-new reproduction is a spot-on replacement in both form and function so it will fit right and last! This listing is for one kit which is enough for one shock mount so you will need to order the appropriate amount needed for your VW (1 per shock, 2 per bumper and 4 per car).
