Original Toschi 1/6th scale model of a Ferrari F500 Formula 2 Racing Car.

Very good condition. Finished in Ferrari red and is in good original order.

In 1952 the Toschi Liqueur Company produced a limited number of these Ferrari models in 1952 to celebrate Alberto Ascari's World Championship, winning every race that year. 

Produced by the Marchesini Toy Company. these highly collectible models are cast in two halves, secured by clips. 

Similar models were presented to Ascari, Fangio and other celebrities which had a bottle of liqueur to the interior and a small basket of cherries to the driver's seat. Interestingly this model can also be used as a working model toy, the interior is fitted with a mechanism to allow a tensioned rubber band to move the car across the floor. 

Still retains its correct simulated spoked wheels and Pirelli rubber tires. The rubber band has long since perished but has been left inside the model to preserve its originality. It measures 65cm/21.” in length.
