World War I (1914-18) Commemorative Cufflinks

(Please note we have temporarily relocated, and all items will now ship from Tenerife; I apologise if deliveries are delayed.)

These are a beautiful pair of cufflinks made with genuine British Royal Irish Rifles buttons (King George V) from the era of the First World War, over 105 years ago.  This pair of cufflinks is made from two black horn Royal Irish Rifles buttons.  During the First World War the Royal Irish Rifles fought on the Western  Front, North Africa and the Middle-east.  The regiment was re-named the Royal Ulster Rifles in 1920 and then 1968 it was amalgamated with other Norther Irish regiments to form the Royal Irish Rangers.  The cufflinks are made with a gold-plated swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel that contrasts beautifully with the black horn buttons.  They are made using pocket buttons from a tunic, perfect in size for cufflinks and are 20 mm in diameter.

They represent a unique part of First World War history.  The black horn buttons have been carefully cleaned to retain the original character of the buttons which are approximately 105 years old, whilst highlighting the beautiful details of these original buttons.

This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks.  They are presented in a luxury leatherette and velvet box and cardboard sleeve to make them the perfect present (a wooden box is available to buy on request; please message me).
