The Life and Times of Arnold Machin OBE R.A. is a fascinating catalogue published to accompany the 2001 retrospective exhibition of the British artist and sculptor at the Royal Academy Schools in London.

Arnold Machin is particularly celebrated for creating the iconic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II used on Britain's definitive postage stamps, but this exhibition explored a much broader career encompassing sculpture, ceramics, drawing, coin and stamp design, architectural work and garden design.

This 48-page illustrated catalogue includes colour and black-and-white illustrations together with biographical material and examples of Machin's work. The exhibition was held at the Royal Academy Schools, Burlington House, Piccadilly, from 17 July to 3 August 2001.
