Wedgwood & Co
The Cube Teapot in “Paisley” pattern
11cm tall, 11.5cm square
Marked "WEDGWOOD & CO ENGLAND". Popular from the 1930s to 1950s.
Designed to not drip, pour easily, and stack well for storage. The cube teapot is a teapot whose main purpose was to be used on a ship. The cube shape of the teapot would stabilise it so that it would not roll when the ship rocked from side to side.
Please see the pictures as to condition. This has obviously been used and has some tea-coloured staining. Crazing is evident and a not-complete crack on one side. There is a small nick to the paint on the handle (pictured).
All in all, a lovely example of a rare item.
