This component MAY be ONE of the issues you need to fix your CD player.  Your CD player may need new belts, and other fixes, but the symptom of spinning the carousel and not identifying a CD in the tray is typically due to the sensor that reads the notches on the tray to identify disk 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 positions and presence.  

This part will fix this ONE issue. Your unit may have other issues, like needing a belt or? But this issue must also be fixed - and may also be the only issue - YOU must have good electronics diagnosing and repair (meter usage, soldering, etc.,) skills to apply this fix.
