I purchased this meter around 1984 from a machinist who was retiring and closing up shop. He said it had been in the back corner of the shop for many years. It appears to be in remarkably good condition for being over 100 years old. This meter was patented June 1, 1909 and this particular one was calibrated June 7, 1918. I connected it to household voltage and got a reading of 120.0 volts. At the same time my Fluke 17B gave a reading of 120.4 volts. The readings are within 0.5%. Which may be more accurate is hard to say. The Bakelite is like new, the nickel plated parts should clean up, and the wood should clean up some. No idea about the leather, but it is very nice. The only thing I have done to this is to install new rubber bumpers on the bottom and the back. The originals were no longer there. I installed the new ones into the original screw holes. This is an exceptional piece of antique laboratory equipment.
