This lot is for a rare documentation photo print of Holidayland (the “lost land” of DISNEYLAND). In this circa 1959 shot you can see young guests climbing all over one of the circus wagons purchased by Walt Disney for the Mickey Mouse Club Circus at Disneyland. Walt Disney with later donate this circus wagon to circus world of Baraboo, Wisconsin.
this photo comes from the collection of Milt Albright, who was not only responsible for developing the park, but managing Holidayland. It seems that this small photo was part of a larger proof sheet, as it is about 1/4 of the size as the rest of the collection.
Most of the photos in Milt’s archive depict organizations like companies renting Holidayland, but this set captures one of many families who rented and enjoyed the picnic facilities at Disneyland.
As you know, few photos were taken in this part of Disneyland and are very hard to find.
We own Albright’s archive, and will not be releasing very many of the photos.
Happy bidding!
