Rare vintage Mod 1970's circular serigraph print of a landscape in golden yellow, mustard, and orange, by American artist Jillian Field, signed at bottom left. Large serigraph NO Glass, shadowbox-style, in a recessed wooden frame, total dimensions 25" by 25" by 1.75". Label of Van Amstel Publishers of California on back, along with printed bio and photo of the artist. Serigraph in excellent condition, some light scrapes and wear to wooden frame. The circular serigraphs by Jillian Field are the best work in her portfolio, and the most scarce.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, and spending much of her adult life in Squaw Valley, California, Jillian Field started her interest in art early at age five. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Fine Arts. Much of her work featured landscapes and drew attention to the beauty of one or two-colour stencil printing. She become known and collected for her serigraphs. Her work was sold at galleries throughout California and was often featured in television shows. You can still find the odd original Field serigraph for sale, but they are rare.
