The 3M UBF 510-F is a multi-layer ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) barrier film designed as a front sheet / top sheet encapsulant for lightweight, flexible thin-film photovoltaic modules. It functions as a glass replacement in flexible solar panel constructions, providing a transparent protective front layer between the solar cells and the environment. The film integrates a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for bonding to edge seals and is engineered for use in laminated flexible PV module stacks including encapsulant, solar cell, and backsheet layers.

This 3M UBF 510-F ETFE Ultra Barrier Solar Film is new old stock manufactured in 2016. The rolls were originally purchased by Solopower in Portland, Oregon or Dow Solar in San Jose, California for use in flexible CIGS solar panel manufacturing. The material has been in storage since that time; however, the rolls remain plastic-sealed in their original packaging and appear to be in good, usable condition with no visible damage.
