You are bidding on a rare set
of tumblers probably produced in 1966 commemorating 100 years of the oil
industry. They are all companies in Southeast Texas where the oil and gas
industry began. The first glass is for the Lucas Gusher/Spindletop in Beaumont,
Texas and reads, “First oil well in Texas 1866.” The second reads, “Magnolia
Oil Company founded 1911.” The third is for Mobil with the red Pegasus and depicts
an oil well and a modern-day plant. It reads, “100 years of progress Mobil 1866
1966.” Each glass is frosted on the exterior so the graphics show well. They are 5” tall and in
excellent condition.
