TITLE: VThe unheeded Cry ; the Life and secure Efforts of Rabbi WEISSMANDEL During the Holocaust, Ny, 1983, By Abraham Fuchs. 224 pages. Very good condition, library stamp.
This emotional and factually significant history book tells the story of Rav Michael Dov WEISSMANDEL’s efforts to save Jews during WW2 and the problems he faced from Jews as well as the Nazi’s and their reps in Bratislava-Slovakia where he and his family lived and perished. He was able to negotiate with the local Nazi’s to delay the deportation of the rest of Slovakian Jerry for a period of 2 years but eventually he wan’t able to save them as a result of some nasty people who refused to give him money to bribe the Nazi’s. A sad chapter in Jewish history.
