As usual it’s been awhile!

So today we have the reintroduction of something very special that’s been a long time coming! Ready once again for duty!  And admittedly this one’s disappearance is my fault. Anyway… Today we have the -

 Right Twix Track!

It’s pretty much what it says on the tin! A right turnout switch for your micro machines trains! Replicating the originals as best I can! And as before we got it pretty darn good! It works what can I say! Actually it’s a lot stronger and much more durable than the originals which are unfortunately as fragile as they are rare! 80’s toys while awesome were very cheap and brittle – a time before returns were the solution to broken toys –too many of the early toys (transformers) were made of garbage plastic on purpose so you have to buy another. This is a problem now because these tracks are getting really hard to find! Well not you can save your precious originals because our beefy track is back!

Where did they go and what I learned the hard way.

So I stopped making these for a good long time. Mainly because for awhile there they got pretty common on ebay! And pretty cheap too! So there was little point to selling them. Now however – these switch tracks are back to being an expensive pain to find! But there was something else – I got some pretty rude returns of 2 of them from some lady claiming they were junk and always derailing. And I took that personally! I yanked the product and repeatedly torture tested it to find that indeed from time to item there were indeed common derails up to 25% of the time! I tried for about half a year to fix the issue but could not. But then I realized the regular track derails too! At about 20%! So it wasn’t really my work so much as something was going on !

What I leaned was that – 1 all micro machines track derails because the trains trucks (wheels) were designed like garbage and no track can really carry them well. Worse – I found it was the track I was using! There being wide track and the inner rail track! I was using the common inner rail track and THAT is what was causing the problems! In other words – YOU NEED TO USE WIDE TYPE TRACK TO CONNECT TO THIS! NOT THE INNER TRACK KIND! Just that one change made details drop to 15%! That and  (Always) try to hold lead car or locomotive down with hand and from the sides too if possible! Just like real trains guide your trains past turns slowly with care! : ) That way both types of  track will work if you want!  In other words the trick all along was play rationally! Handle with care! I kinda feel dumb not having realized it sooner!

So! Here we go again! Back on sale! And now a little wiser! But yes – overall these will still work with both types of track one just requires a lot more care when turning! But fear not! If you do want the smoother transitioning track but you cant find it (because that too is getting impossible to find – I have adapter track and complete remakes of the wide track too! And at a reasonable price AKA not in euros! ! so just ask!  :D

So before we start let’s try problem solving like an engineer!

 

Q: How will you send my item to me?

A: Shattered in a million pieces. No- just kidding. That’s a joke. Your item will actually arrive nicely via a small bubble envelope.  

Q: When will my order arrive?

A:

About 3 - 4 weeks -PLEASE order with about a month in advance! Printing minis is a SLOW painful process thats far from automatic or perfect! 

Q: Buy why do your orders take so long to make??? Why is your stuff so expensive?

A:

Please remember your order is a small work of art crafted by hand and painted in detail by hand! And it’s not made until you order it so try to keep in mind the work involved. Also I live in California where food is $12 a meal. So I’m actually doing this on the cheap.

Q: I still hate you and I don't want to wait that long! Can I message you demanding faster service or an immediate refund?

A:

Please... The ETA is set by the time we need and we ask you respect us and order with enough time in advance (again about a month) -Also though we always give small fun bonus sheets to make up for any late orders! All time tables are posted on the listing! Please read them BEFORE BUYING! Thank you!

Q: Do you offer custom buildings / Commissions? I have money would like to commission you!

A:Absolutely! Just message us for details! Just bear in mind custom items are expensive and time consuming to design print and paint!

Q: What about couplers? Can you change the item from rapido type to something else? 

A:

Here’s the thing about that…  No I cannot swap a new coupler type because my models were only designed to work with my rapido compatible couplers and the socket type is built into the body. And I cannot print anything else out due to size/complexity limitations of the materials being under .25mm. But- I can try to simply custom remove the whole coupler box and simply buy a set of couplers of your choosing to glue those onto the frame. But of course this will double delivery time and double the price as now I have to order parts and redesign the model and custom fit them and test them. 

Q: I broke something! Do you offer replacement parts?!   

A:

Yes! I keep a catalog of all parts so they can be ordered if needed. But they are almost as costly as the item itself! So be CAREFUL!

Q: I got my item! Now what do I do?   

A:

Choke on it... No – again I am just kidding... play with it an enjoy life you nutjob! A wise soul once told me never let collecting get in the way of actually running and enjoying your trains!  

Q: What will I need?

A: Generally I'd say a good psychiatrist... No seriously - you're taking advice from a guy who plays with trains at 40? On the other hand - I'm a very happy man despite my nagging scene of impending doom. Maybe not having time to play with trains and enjoy life is why we get old and die in the first place???

Sorry to have to spell everything out in such dramatic and dragged out fashion. But there have been "some people" who are a constant reminder that god has a sense of humor. And to be fair the vast vast majority of our buys are both smart and on the level... It's just that we get the odd "intellectual giant" that can't read and hammers us without so much as mentioning there is a problem. And god knows ebay won't help -often sighting some line we need to put in somewhere or say multiple times for some reason... Or really just combing through the listing looking for anything they can use an excuse not to have to do any work or change anything.
