ABOUT HBC STRIPES

The multi-stripes of green, red, yellow and indigo were introduced on the Hudson's Bay Point Blanket at the end of the 18th century. The colors were chosen because they were popular and easily produced using good colorfast dyes. These four colors are also sometimes known as Queen Anne's colors, since they first became popular during her reign (1702 - 1714). Today, you'll find an assortment of clothing, accessories and home items adorned with the HBC stripes.
