CHURCH’S VINTAGE JODHPUR BOOTS – BROWN / TAN – UK 7.5 – VERESE - EXCELLENT CONDITION - RARE

A very fine (and very rare) pair of gentleman’s jodhpur boots in chestnut calf leather from Church’s. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there – including some darker ‘splash’-type marks around the uppers (see photos) -  but, then again, who wants a pair of jodhpur boots that look as if you’ve just bought ‘em ?!  - it’d be like wearing shiny wellies or a glossy waxed jacket. This is a very rare design to see – I have only seen one other pair of Church’s jodhpur boots before, actually - and you will be very unlucky to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a good feeling, I think. This pair were originally sold as ‘subs’ – possibly because of some well-hidden marks low down on the vamps of the left boot ? (see photos)

In my opinion, although modern-day Church’s shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.

But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!

The width fitting is ‘F’ - which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.

The style is ‘Varese’ – a very rare design to see; beautifully proportioned and built on Church’s popular 73 Last.

The shoes feature calf leather uppers, full leather linings and leather soles.

Wonderful quality shoes from a traditional English shoemaker.
