Mouth-blown from black glass and freely hand formed into shape, this favorite from 1998, the Toikka Raven, is brought back to celebrate 40 years of Oiva Toikka birds for iittala. The sleek Toikka Raven has a big belly and wide tail, and though slightly smaller than the 1998 original, this sizeable bird measures 11-2/5 x 3-9/10.
With such a shiny black surface, the bird is almost mirror like, reflecting its surroundings, which adds depth and beauty to Toikkas own design.
The 2012 collection of birds by Oiva Toikka are individually mouth-blown by the master glassblowers at iittalas glassworks in Nuutajrvi, Finland. Each handcrafted iittala Toikka Crow carries the signature O. Toikka Nuutajrvi on its base to ensure authenticity.
