Albert Tucker said in 1950 "Artistic capacity has to be buttressed by old-fashioned courage, character, intelligence. And also luck. The artist is born on a tightrope and has to learn to live on it." His works depicted in this book are concurrent with that view of artistic existence.

The book is in excellent condition except for some mild yellowing of early pages.
