This state-of-the-art solenoid is designed for the Borg Warner R-10 R-11 Overdrive system.

This is the solenoid used by all eleven major car manufacturers offering Borg Warner electric overdrive as an option from the late 1930s to the early 1960s. It perfectly fits standard Borg Warner overdrive applications with a shaft length of 1", measured from the tip to the edge of the alignment flange. 

To confirm compatibility, measure your shaft length by placing a ruler on top of the shaft, measuring from the ball end to the casting edge. Standard overdrive-solenoids typically measure 1", while wagons, convertibles, and Lincolns may have varying lengths, such as 1.5 inches or longer in some cases.
