The brass head gives a dead-blow strike with no rebound, so the full force of the swing transfers into the punch or tool rather than bouncing back into your hand. Being softer than steel, the brass face also helps protect the tool it strikes from marking or damage — useful whether you're a hobbyist starting out in metal craft or a working jeweller at the bench.
- Set up: Position your disc cutter, dapping punch or doming tool securely on a solid bench block or steel stake.
- Hold steady: Keep the punch upright and steady with your free hand, applying light downward pressure.
- Strike squarely: Bring the hammer down in a controlled, square strike onto the top of the punch — let the 560g brass weight do the work rather than swinging hard.
- Repeat as needed: Reposition the punch and strike again for cutting, dapping or forming, checking progress between blows.

Postage to the UK is free.
If you are outside the UK we can combine the postage. If you could not request an invoice before paying, then buy the items and then send us message after to refund the excess postage.
We will only charge at cost, not per item. If items ARE light they can often go for the cost of 1 shipping price. You do need to message us after purchase. More valuable orders need to be sent tracked.
We generally post same day as payment if bought before 2pm.
We send our items well packed and always first or second class for the UK, and by Royal Mail Airmail for international orders.
Ebay shipping times are an estimate for international purchases and can take longer especially when not tracked.
If you buy a substantial order we will send using tracked postage at our expense if postage charged does not cover this.
Our goods are sent royal mail unless they are heavy items that then go by courier.
Our aim is to only sell good value quality goods, but should you not be 100% happy, we offer a full refund, no questions asked for up to 60 days after purchase and for any reason, just return product to us.
