Original large format 5 x 7" film negative. Photographed at Decatur IL in 1939 by the documentary photographer Charles Medin. ADM has been a member of the Decatur, Illinois community since 1939 when it began construction on what was then the world's largest solvent extraction plant. The ICRR was understandably elated to be part of these new operations and sent out Charles Medin to document the company's progress.

Charles Medin was artist/photographer and then assistant editor of the Illinois Central Magazine, circa 1900s to 1949. His images are well-known to railfans as he documented railroads and city street scenes across the Eastern & Southern states.
