These solar thermal absorber panels are made of 4mm thick sheet. Water flows through these panels which carries the absorbed heat to where it is required for a solar thermal system. The panels are both selectively coated, and incorporate an insulation layer, to increase their efficiency.
Systems are usually installed with a wall mounted solar pump station. Two lagged pipes lead to the roof, and two to the hot water storage or the under floor heating. Systems may be pressurized with an expansion vessel, or may be vented and utilize a header tank. Our unique freeze proof absorbers also allow direct systems which are especially suited to pool heating applications.
The absorbers may be installed to any normal roof structure in place of conventional roof slates or tiles. Any normally found features can be negotiated, including hips, valleys, ridges, dormers, chimneys, vents etc.
The absorber panels are designed to be covered with toughened glass slates.
Each absorber measures 1200x250mm, with 12mm copper pipe laser-welded to the substrate. Each absorber is connected to the next using 12mm connectors.
