In this first edition and first printing 2019 hardcover book, authors Ray Lambert, recipient of the Silver Star, and Jim DeFelice. co-author of American Sniper, the attack on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Ray was the head of a medical team, and he had already received the Silver Star for running through German line to save trapped men. On D-Day Ray spoke with his brother Bill, and they promised to take care of their families if one of them did not make it. After five hours of the attack, Bill lay unconscious in shallow water after saving dozens of live and being wounded three times.
