Beryl Var. Aquamarine (Highly Etched Skeletal Crystal) - Location: Itatiaia Mine Conselheiro Pena Minas Gerais Brazil. Thumbnail (see photo for more details). Here we have an unusual but at the same time rather aesthetic specimen of a highly etched skeletal beryl crystal var. aquamarine. The crystal is well-formed and sharp and is etched and skeletal being somewhat 'hollow'. The crystal is gemmy and has a very light pale bluish-green color (almost colorless) and has a glassy luster.
