Masato Sudo

Born in Akita Prefecture in 1955. After graduating from Noshiro High School, he entered the Tokyo College of Photography. While a student, he photographed trucks decorated with lights and other exterior decorations, known as “decotra,” and produced a calendar entitled “Running Street Aesthetics. Through this experience, he was introduced to the carving artist Mr. Kohjin, and began photographing the world of carvings.

In 1979, he became a student of photographer Yasuhiro Ishimoto, and held the “Aizo” exhibition in 1981 and 1983; in May 2014, his work was exhibited in the “TATTOO” exhibition at the Quai Branly Museum in Paris.

In March 2015, he participated in the “TATTOO” exhibition at the Ronin Gallery in New York City together with Mr. Sangayoshi Sandaime.
