Tegaki literally means hand drawn, and a bit more loosely, hand applied with a brush. Tegaki is a hand-painting technique for dyeing fabric that has been used in Japan for centuries.

This dress is an excellent piece of history and shows the individuality among designers.

There would have been two other labels inside the neckline, which are no longer there now.  Most Tegaki's also show a tag that reads "Liberty House Hawaii" and "Made in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong".

Approximate measurements: chest 36", waist 28", sleeves 23", length 58", both from top of shoulder.
