In the late 1970s, known as the third monster boom, Poppy's "Great Saurus Series" and "King Saurus Series" (sold from 1978 to 1981) appeared. These were collectible toys from "Poppy," a group company of Bandai. The most distinctive feature of the series is the footprints molded into both feet of all the characters. For this reason, this series was also called the "foot-shaped series." They were released in the Ultra Monster Series and the Toho Monster Series. At the time, the Great Saurus series was released in giant size, with only selected characters from the King Saurus series. The Great Saurus Godzilla was later remodeled into lamps and telephone receivers, and lined up in fancy shops.

This time, as part of a project to celebrate Godzilla's 70th anniversary, the historic Godzilla soft vinyl "Great Saurus" has been faithfully reproduced and reprinted using a new mold. The first release comes in two color versions. The arms, legs, and tail are movable.
