Born on November 11, lived in Morioka City until the age of 15

1960

Moved to Kyoto City

1961

Apprenticed to Mitsuho Yoshida, a traditional craftsman (dyer)

1972 Started making woodblock prints.

Began making woodblock prints

1973

Selected for the Japan Print Association / Selected for the Nichido-Print Grand Prix / Sangikai Newcomer's Award, nominated for membership

Released the Kinki version of Japan Post's hometown stamps “Kyoto Event” Produced the original drawings for four stamps

Masao Ido's woodblock print exhibition “Seeing Kyoto” at Kiyomizu Temple and Kyodo, an important cultural property in Kyoto.
