I bought this trumpet for my kid when he was starting band a few years ago. Searched all over and found one at auction (not here, a real auction, live), quite pleased with myself. Sent it out to wonderful Ellis Music here in Vermont and they did a “Complete disassembly. Ultrasonically clean all parts. Replace felts, corks, and water key springs. Lubricate slides and valves. Reassemble and play test.” I also bought a new mouthpiece (Yamaha 11B4, Trumpet Mouthpiece, Siver-Plated) from them and a bottom valve cap and a music book. But the pandemic arrived and my kid was barely in band at all and then band became entirely optional. Fair amount of $ spent on this trumpet overall and then it just sat and today I realized…time for it to go to another kid. It hasn’t been touched in well over a year.
