DescriptionThis antique CDV features a nice portrait of a seated lady in a striped dress during the Civil War era. The 2 cent tax stamp adds to its historical significance. The photograph was taken by J.S. Masseck and is an original, not a licensed reprint. The item is listed by a dealer or reseller and is in the format of a carte de visite. It is a single piece and would make a great addition to any collection of photographs, especially those interested in women's history. The CDV was manufactured between 1860-1865. This photo is in good condition with toning from age, handling and storage. Dimensions, approximate 4" x 2-1/2".
