These are vintage 12-ounce Avery's Bottling Works bottles last used
in the late 1980s or early 1990s but probably older than that. I
have 34 of them
that I have owned since the late 1980s or early 1990s. I was getting
cases of soda bottles refilled in those years at Avery's in New Britain,
Connecticut, and I kept a couple of wooden cases of them just because I liked their vintage look. Some of those cases held mixtures of Avery's bottles and bottles from defunct soda companies such as Virginia Dare and Towne Club that Avery's was using at the time.
NOTE: These are not the same 12-ounce bottles as Avery's currently uses. These are thicker, heavier, taller and more tapered. Also, these have the permanent painted label rather than the currently used adhesive paper label.
These bottles weigh about 22
ounces each when shipped individually in a box with protective padding, so it would
be much less costly to ship multiple bottles together. I also have some
vintage Towne Club, Hampden and Virginia Dare bottles listed, so you can mix
and match brands if you like. I will not make any money on the shipping,
so I will only pass through the exact charge from USPS to the buyer. If
a partial refund is needed because I see you overpaid for shipping, I will issue it
right away.
Send me a message if you are local and interested in the two wooden Avery's cases. If you are interested, I will list them for sale with local pickup in Middletown, CT as the only shipping option. Also, my intent is to honor the volume discount on mixed purchases. so send me a message if there is something I need to do in order to make that happen. Many thanks!
