Men’s Retro Estate Vintage Mid-Century Helbros Dress Wristwatch  

We at Strickland Vintage Watches have had the privilege of buying fine things from around the world, often acquiring entire estates just to get one piece. There might be several good items in a group that are outside our sphere of interest. However, they may just be the wonderful treasures you've been seeking!

There have been many of you out there who can’t afford an SVW piece but still want a vintage timepiece on your wrist; there are set designers and costume coordinators on productions who are looking for just the right piece for their character(s). The estate-fresh pieces we list are for you.

Some run; some do not but none have been cleaned, oiled and calibrated, so whether it is running at the time of this writing or not, one must have the piece serviced before wearing it as an everyday driver.

We’re pleased to offer this honest, rather uncommon gold-tone Helbros dress wristwatch in relatively good condition for a nearly 70 year old work of tactile art, featuring a beautifully ‘40s/’50s era case with gloriously oversized “folded” lugs! Measures approx. 38mm by 28mm – not counting (missing) crown, of course. Love the period numbers; love the stately, bygone aura of the piece. Missing a hand but oh, its case is an eye-catcher!

It contains a 17 jewel Swiss movement that is not running. Fitted with a new strap. 

We’re offering the piece for someone to restore if they wish or to use in the restoration of another work of wrist art. Also, the piece can be worn as a “prop” watch for your production, as many of our watches are.

PLEASE NOTE: This gorgeous work of horological art by one of the world’s most accomplished watch houses is obviously quite honest and original; however it is not running and will need to be serviced – cleaned, oiled and calibrated – before being worn as an everyday driver and/or to keep accurate time.
