15-pc Japanese Geisha Demitasse Set
Peacock with Red Floral Pattern
Description
15-piece porcelain demitasse set featuring a transfer-print floral pattern with peafowls; a couple of peafowls with magnificent plumage on a sakura cherry branch embellished with chrysanthemum blooms.
The demitasse cups have another neat feature which would also attract your guests' attention; when held up to the light to take the last sip of coffee, a lovely geisha lady will emerge through the bottom.
The set consists of: a teapot, a creamer, a sugar bowl, 6 demitasse cups and saucers.
It will make the perfect addition to your tea party setting that shows off its grace and dignity as proud as a peacock.

These tea sets/cup & saucers are all brand-new.
In the mid 1900's, a large quantity of Geisha porcelain cup and saucers were exported from Japan mainly to Europe and Australia. Even though drastically decreased in quantity, there are a few manufacturers in my local area still producing these geisha cups. However, as aging craftsmen die or retire, and few young replacements enter the porcelain industry, lithophane geisha cups will soon be discontinued. So please don't miss out on this opportunity.
