This beautiful oval serving platter from Doulton Burslem is a stunning piece of antique porcelain. The Madras pattern features a gorgeous blue color with an oriental theme, and it was produced using a flow blue production technique in 1891 to 1901 based on the mark.  The moon symbol may further nail down the date.  There is an impressed mark and a printed mark. Measuring 17 1/4 inches in length and 14 inches in width, this platter is the perfect addition to any collection of decorative cookware, dinnerware, and serveware. Care instructions recommend hand washing only, and the item weighs 4 lb 7 oz. This original piece is a must-have for collectors of antique pottery and glass, and it would make a fantastic display piece in any home. The condition is excellent.  There are a few small areas on the rim where the glaze was scraped.  These only affect the edge and are hard to notice as shown in the last two photographs.  Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks nor wear.  Remarkably, there are no utensil marks nor other signs of use.
