In 1856, Hiroshige began the creation of what would become his final major series and his masterpiece, "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo." This series consists of 120 classic ukiyo-e landscapes by Hiroshige and his successor, Hiroshige II.
This album, a 1995 edition of machine reprints, includes 120 reprints from the original series along with an additional rare version of "Shower on Ohashi Bridge at Atake," which differs from the first edition.
Despite being machine-printed, these reprints capture the nuances of the original woodblock prints exceptionally well, including the shading and mica textures, by printing on washi Paper. Each print is individually housed in its own Washi paper folder.
