This is a rock solid Steve Vai album with very few misses. You can't put Steve Vai in a box. Not every album will sound exactly like Passion and Warfare. This one has some great instrumentals including K'm-Pee-Du-Wee and Freak Show Excess (my favorite). Lotus Feet is an incredible track of Steve with an orchestra. Yai Yai, Midway Creatures, I'm Your Secrets all awesome tracks very reminiscent of Flex-Able which is a highly underrated Vai album. Flex-able lovers should be very satisfied especially with these tracks. Some people have a problem with Steve's voice. I do not and think that it is more than adequate although his best singing is on the album Fire Garden. This really clocks in at around 4.5 stars but I will round up. Minor complaints are the mastering of the album is too loud which may irritate some. Overall very solid release.
