• Here is a HANDMADE STRETCHED LEATHER OVER WOOD AND PAPIER MACHE VINTAGE STATUE  figure of a monkey, most likely a Barbary Macaque

  • Stretched leather over Paper-Mache and carved wood

  • Glass bead eyes

  • Note the textured surface of the leather

  • Measurements: (Approximate)
  • 17" tall (bottom of foot to top of tail)
  • 18" long (tail tip to front of face)
  • 7" wide (shoulder to shoulder)

  • Weighs just over 1 lb.

  • Condition: Good/expected for age.
  •  Some scuffing/fading and chipping of paint finish
  • A few very small spots where material is peeling
  • a small split in the leather near the base of the tail
  • -Dry and creviced on the bottoms of feet and hands
  • Seams can be seen at any jointed areas or between limbs and body
  • -The joints in the 3 legs that touch the ground are slightly weakened and have affected the balance; once in awhile I can get him to stand and balance without being propped up against anything but a majority of times this isnt the case and he topples over-may need to attach it to a base or just lean it up against something

  • THIS IS A BEAUTIFULLY DONE PIECE!!
